Privacy

As a therapist, I am required to have a supervisor (mentor) who is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and has completed the supervisor certification.  I receive mentoring and support from my supervisor, and they are bound by the same privacy legislation as I am. I protect clients’ privacy as required by the provincial and federal privacy legislation and the privacy requirements and Code of Ethics of the CRPO and of my professional associations. During the first session with any new client, I review the privacy requirements in detail including what kind of notes I take and how the notes are stored.
